Welcome! We are a congregation that is committed to our youth and the development of their spiritual well-being. We are fortunate to have a thriving youth program, one where youth explore their personal beliefs, build lasting friendships, and engage in the larger world.

As the Youth Minister, I work with the youth (grades 9th - 12th) in our congregation, their parents, and the adult members who support our youth. My primary role is to build relationships with our youth, to support them as they explore their spiritual beliefs, and to help them connect with our congregation and Unitarian Universalism. I want our youth to feel like this is their religious community - whether they come once a year or every week.

We invite you to learn more about our congregation and its fantastic youth.

Youth Participation in Congregational Life
UCS is a congregation that welcomes youth to attend and participate in our larger congregation. Youth are invited to join us for worship and to share their skills & presence in worship services, social action, congregational committees, and religious education. Emilie Boggis will be happy to help you find a niche.

PARENT GROUP

All parents – whether your youth is a freshman, a senior, or somewhere in between – are encouraged to attend the fall Parent Orientation on September 13, 6:30 – 8:30 pm. It gives parents a chance to learn more about the current program, make space for open dialogue, and establish connections among parents.

Starting fall 2009, we will offer a Parent Group on Sunday evenings. The group will offer space for parents to get to know one another, share experiences, learn more about parenting a teenager, and have fun (after all, if the youth are having fun, why shouldn’t their parents?). It is open to parents of 8th – 12th graders. Please contact Emilie Boggis if you are interested in joining the group.
