The Annual Services Auction is our largest fundraiser, with donations contributed by members.
Members and friends gather for a fun, theme-based evening and bid on services, events and goods. A children’s program and excellent food make this a fun occasion for all.
There are price points for everybody. One of the highlights of the auction is the wide variety of dinners offered by members. These dinners foster a sense of community throughout the year in addition to being a lot of fun.
The 2015 Auction will take place at UCS on Saturday November 14, starting at 5 pm. The theme is “Growing Community Together,” in keeping with this year’s ministerial theme, “Growing Children and Adults who Care.”
The event will offer some new twists and lots of surprises! Your $20 admission ticket will include dinner and a bidder number to use in both the silent and live auctions. With the ever popular (included in your admission) party for children upstairs, there’s no need to get a babysitter!
Our Auction logo this year is a colorful wreath of handprints that symbolizes unity and diversity within the UCS community, and our desire to come together to create wonderful experiences. Each year, the Goods and Services Auction provides our members with a forum to do exactly this. Many hands come forward to donate items — handmade, lovingly assembled or thoughtfully purchased — and services — such as dinner parties, music lessons, vacation homes, nature walks and a huge variety of other events — for our members to bid on. The events happen throughout the year and offer dozens of opportunities for us all to be “Growing Community Together.”

We will officially kick off the Auction season on Sunday, September 20, with a wreath comprised of just a few handprints. For every church member who makes a donation to the Auction — of an item, service, or to serve as a volunteer — a handprint will be added to our wreath, creating a vivid piece of community art that will flourish during the weeks leading up to the Auction, which is the Church’s largest fundraiser of the year.
Volunteer! We need lots of help, before, during and after. Click here to volunteer. We’ll get back to you about an assignment.
Signups will also be available after services, starting Sunday, October 11.
Last (but not least!) here is a sneak peak of this year’s auction offerings. We’ll try to keep the listings updated as donations come in!
