Outreach: Refugee Response Ministry

Refugee Response Ministry is moving along toward creating a robust network of support and resources within our congregation.  We are learning that supporting refugees and immigrants takes many forms.  To state the plainest truth: immigration is complex and the needs of immigrants and refugees in the United States are diverse, many and multi-faceted.  There are many opportunities where we can engage.

We are providing education sessions on what it means to be a sanctuary congregation on the following dates. We hope you can join us for one of the sessions:

-Sunday April 30th at 10:30-11:15 AM and 12:15-1:00 PM

-Sunday May 7th 6:30-8:00 PM

-Tuesday May 16th 7:00-8:30PM

In addition, we are partnering with Morrow Memorial Methodist Church to make detention center visits.  Dean Nielson will be offering a training on Wednesday May 3rd from 6:30-8:00 for anyone interested in making detention center visits.

We will be sharing additional opportunities in the near future to engage in refugee response ministry together.
