We gather as people from many backgrounds and faith traditions to uphold and consider matters of the heart, mind and soul. Prophetic words from preachers past or a variety of texts; elevating music, including our own voices joined together and lifted in song; reflections through silence or meditation, along with a central sermon, invite us to be inspired and inspire others. Worship for us, is only complete with your presence and involvement.
We generally have two Sunday-morning services, at 9:00 am and 10:45 am during the regular church year, which runs from the Sunday after Labor Day in September to the second Sunday in June. A majority of services are led by our parish minister, Rev. Vanessa Rush Southern.
Most of the religious-education programs for children run concurrently with the adult worship services, with classes at both 9:00 am and 10:45 am. A sun-room and a nursery with live-video feed are also available for parents of young children.
On summer Sundays, we have a single service at 10:00 am, led by visiting ministers, guest speakers or congregation members. There is a summer program of child care and children’s activities.
Approximately 6 times a year, we have inter-generational worship services where all ages gather in the sanctuary for songs, stories and inspirational words.
On the third Saturday evening of each month from September through June, a lay worship leader, Helen Kaar, leads a Green Vespers worship service, upholding and celebrating our connection to the earth.
Come see what we have to offer!
